Jax tours every year with the Fringe Festival, being one of the few people to bring dance to these theatre fetes. One year she said she felt she needed something more accessable by an audience expecting to see dialog and narration, and something 'hip' and 'modern'. So, would I write a comic book story for her? I gave her something original, although it had some inspiration in the Heavy Metal magazines I read when I was a kid (before it was porn). She turned it into a dance piece, complete with a soundtrack and voice-overs. Here you'll see Izzy Scorpio and the Shadow posing for promo photos before they started the tour. |
